FairPoint’s 24-hour Community Channel, Channel 2, reaches over 10,000 people throughout Kearney and Platte City. The Community Channel advertises local events, sports, advertising for local businesses, and FairPoint services.
Not-for-profit organizations, such as churches, schools, and community groups, use the Community Channel to advertise special events and activities. Suppers/luncheons, speakers, games, and other special events appear frequently on the Community Channel and help our local organizations gain support.
Local businesses use the Community Channel to explain their products/services and special promotions. The Community Channel is one of the least expensive ways for businesses to advertise and be able to
reach so many people in the area.
In Kearney during the school year, the BBN (Bulldog Broadcasting Network) submits taped sporting events such as football, basketball, and wrestling matches for FairPoint to broadcast. This is a great way for family and friends to watch the event in their own home!
